Suitable for

It’s a challenging class, but beginners are very welcome. Every exercise can be modified to suit your experience and current fitness level.

If you have a medical condition, recent injury or persistent pain, please get in touch before your first class so we can advise you appropriately.

Strength training becomes increasingly important through midlife – but that doesn’t mean training has to become punishing or extreme.

Over time, regular strength training can help you:

✓ build and maintain muscle strength

✓ support bone health

✓ improve balance and physical confidence

✓ make everyday tasks feel easier

✓ maintain independence and function as you age

✓ feel more confident using weights and strength-training equipment

I’ve never lifted weights before. Can I join?

Absolutely. Many women start with us with little or no previous strength-training experience. Technique comes first and exercises are adapted to your starting point.

Do I have to be in menopause to attend?

This class is designed specifically for women in midlife. You do not need a formal diagnosis or to be experiencing particular symptoms.

Is this a high-intensity class?

Strength training can be challenging without being frantic. We prioritise controlled movement, appropriate resistance and good recovery between exercises. It’s also worth knowing that this is a low-impact class, so there are no jumping jacks or burpees waiting for you

I have pelvic-floor concerns or previous injuries. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Please let us know when you complete your Health Questionnaire. We place a strong emphasis on safe, preventive training and a pelvic floor-conscious approach. Every exercise can be modified to suit your needs. As every woman’s situation is different, we may occasionally recommend seeking guidance from your healthcare professional before starting.
